I did not begin by attempting to acquire prompting frameworks.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!AI, I simply wanted to get usable content. Less editing. Less guessing. Less frustration. However, whenever I employed AI, I ended up with the same problem. The result was satisfactory until I read it.
It is then that I began to investigate the chain of thought prompting.
Chain of thought prompting is a technique in which you provide AI with guidance in a step-by-step manner rather than asking it to give a final answer.
Rather than write a blog, you subdivide the thinking process into stages. And that slight movement made my process of working with AI different.
This is important in case you are content creators.
Artificial Intelligence Provides Garbage Responses.
We should not pour the sugar over it.
In case AI is not directed in the right way, it can lead to low-quality content. I observed this in blog posts, emails, and social content. This is what continued to appear-
- Vague blog posts
- Wrong SEO keywords
- Zero E-E-A-T signals
The text had a refined sound.
But it was shallow. It was not in line with the search intent. It didn’t answer real questions. And it didn’t feel trustworthy. It is an issue when you desire traffic or conversions.

Wasted Time + Tokens
It is at this point that it becomes frustrating. The fact that a single poor result will result in numerous retries.
17 revisions per post
I have rewritten the same article on more occasions than I would want to confess. In blog posts and emails, it can be a matter of many revisions to come up with something workable. Each version was a bit better. But it was a gradual process.
$50/week API costs
In case you frequently utilize AI tools, retries accumulate. The more the prompts, the more the tokens. The higher the number of tokens, the higher the cost. And even then, you are not assured of better AI outputs.
Google penalties
Quality matters.
Search engines seek useful, structured, people-first content. In case AI content is repetitive or shallow, it is reflected. That was when I knew that I had to have a better system.
Chain of Thought Magic (5 Templates)
It is in this place that the chain of thought prompting began to unfold.
I dictated the steps instead of requesting the final output from the AI. That is the main concept of AI prompt chains. You don’t just ask. You control the thinking.
I tested this on blog content, emails, and short-form posts, and I found that it made the post more structured and clear.
Provided you are experimenting with a chain of thought prompting ChatGPT 2026, this methodology is easy to test.
Below are five of my regularly used templates.
Template 1- SEO article
I do not plunge into writing but lead the process.
Prompt flow-
- Define the target audience
- Identify search intent
- Generate keyword clusters
- Develop an organized plan.
- Expand each section
This assists in aligning the contents with the search behavior.
To get more in-depth with the keyword strategy, such tools as Ahrefs or SEMrush explain how keyword clustering works.
Template 2- Social copy
Short content requires guidance.
Prompt flow-
- Define platform
- Set tone
- Generate hooks
- Write 2–3 variations
- Refine for clarity
This decreases generic outputs.
Template 3- Email sequences
Emails need flow.
Prompt flow-
- Define goal
- Outline sequence
- Write subject lines
- Draft body
- Refine tone
AI prompt chains, in this case, make emails feel linked.

CoT and Regular Prompts
Here is a mere comparison in terms of practical application.
This table is a reflection of how structured prompting can be used to help increase clarity and minimize the amount of editing work required.
| Metric | Regular | CoT | Improvement |
| Readability | 62 | 89 | +44% |
| SEO Score | 45 | 87 | +93% |
| Time Saved | 2.1 hours | 27 min | 7.7x |
These are not precise standards.
But they represent a regular trend.
Outputs become more organized and usable with a chain of thought prompting them. You can check how you can transform AI content revenue.
Before/After Examples (What Changed)
I did not follow the screenshots.
However, I did notice a steady variation in the work process on various content types.
Before using the chain-of-thought prompting-
- Repetitive intros
- Weak structure
- Random keyword placement
- Heavy editing needed
Following a use of chain-of-thought prompting-
- Better flow
- Clear sections
- Keywords used naturally
- Less editing required
This is where the true value will appear.
Not perfect outputs. But more to start with drafts.

Use one template. Test it. And construct your own CoT prompting guide over time.
